Stayed in private room with husband and two friends. Toilets very clean and on every floor. Shower in basement but that wasn't an issue for us at all. Very quiet. Had a great meal in the lobby. Unimpressed with breakfast but there are plenty of options on the street.

I've stayed here on two occasions and both times have been fantastic - great value, exceptionally clean and tidy and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The location is right in the middle of town and amongst all the best restaurants and bars
Very clean with hot showers and welcoming helpful staff. Really suggest to bring your own sleeping bags and pillows as the rooms aren't 'hot' but comfortable so long as you remember to turn the heater on and off!
Only mishap we had on our visit was two noisy tourists leaving very early in the morning and awakening everyone in the shared room.
Also the kitchen facilities were brilliant, get there early and cook quickly - first in first served.
There was a lovely atmosphere in the afternoons as backpackers shared spare food and stories about trekking through Iceland. Akureyri was a very lovely town, strongly recommend you stay here if you are looking for a own to earth place to stay.
Wonderful hostel in the center of Akureyri! Stayed only 1 day in June 2013., because of roundtrip along Iceland, but all 5 of us wished to stay much longer. Design of hostel (furniture, for example to point some, like seats from bus in lounge room, wooden barn doors in toilet, cute place to chill with coffee/tea/book on first floor, funny notes all around the place etc.) and friendly staff at the reception desk is something which puts this hostel high on my 'Had to go back list'! Btw. And we even had sunny, warm, clear sky weather which was unfortunately not the case in Reykjavik. All the best from Croatia.
